We have seen that pizzas have become very popular in Pakistan. In the Indian recipes and the Pakistani recipes, pizza recipe has got a great demand now. The dough is the base of pizza and here Zubaida Apa provides you a very easy Pakistani Recipe for making the pizza dough right in your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup water (warm it up to 40°C)
  • Sugar (1 teaspoon)
  • Yeast (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1/2 table spoon)
  • Olive oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Flour (over 2 cups)

Procedure

1.      You have to pour water in some pan which can carry it easily. Then add the sugar and yeast into water and shake well with a spoon. When you think that the sugar is dissolved, leave that mixture for 10 minutes. You will see that the yeast will be activated and the foam of yeast will show up on top of water. Now add the oil and salt into the mixture and shake.

2.      Now slowly you have to add the flour into the mixture and keep on stirring it with a spoon. This will ensure that the flour mixes well. The quantity of flour will be complete when it will become hard for you to stir.

3.      You can check if the mixture is prepared well or not by pinching a small piece out and then stretching it. It should be extensible for the good Making a Pizza Dough.

Procedures of this step

a.       Now when the material is ready, it is a dough. Take this dough out of the pan.

b.      Sprinkle a good amount of flour on to a wooden or marble surface and place the dough on it.

c.       If you feel that the dough is sticking to the surface, you have to sprinkle more flour. This is same as in the Indian recipes and Pakistani recipes, you prepare a roti.

d.      Now press the dough and stretch it. Again fold it and again press it. This is to be repeated several times.

e.       Now place the dough for 5 hours inside a refrigerator or you can also place it for 1 hour at kitchen temperature.

f.        By this time, the dough will rise up and it will swell due to the presence of yeast.

4.      Now sprinkle some flour on the wooden or marble surface and place the dough again on it. Now roll the dough in the flour and flour its outside surface.

5.      The dough present now is to be cut into two halves. Now you have two dough. Place one dough at a side and work on the other.

6.      Now press and stretch the dough. When it is stretched up to 4 inches in diameter, place it on the surface.

7.      Fold over the edges of the dough about half inch inside.

8.      Now pick the dough on your palm and work it like a Roti. Change hands by throwing dough again and again on the other hand.

9.      Stop when you see that the dough is now 8 inches in diameter.

Totkay and tips for dough

·         Use calculated amount of floor, otherwise the dough will not be good. It will become dry.

·         If the dough is sticking to your hands, place dry flour on your hands.
